Research
My research program integrates two complementary lines of inquiry: First, I investigate the dynamics and complexities of students’ motivation, emotion and engagement in STEM settings. This work explores how instructional practices, social contexts, and individual beliefs shape students' academic experiences and outcomes. Second, because motivation is a dynamic process, I advance the use of intensive longitudinal methodologies, such as experience sampling and diary studies, to capture short-term changes in students' beliefs and behaviors. These methods also inform the design and evaluation of motivational interventions. Together, these lines of research aim to refine motivation theory and translate findings into practical strategies that promote equity, persistence, and success in STEM education.
